French classes for Beginners

Principle Goals

• Introduction to the French language

• Mastery of grammatical structures

• Pronunciation, listening and reading

• Acquisition of a basic business vocabulary and/or useful expressions for everyday life

Syllabus

• Pronunciation of the French alphabet and numbers

• Introduction of basic vocabulary relating to work and everyday life

• Introductions (oneself, the company, the products or services).  How to answer the telephone, how to repeat information, etc

• Grammar : present , past and future tenses, use of articles and adjectives

• Use of basic verbs : i.e. to be,  to have, to go, to eat, to work, etc.

Pedagogical Approach

Our hands-on approach privileges oral expression, relying on role-playing, creative situational games and other interactive exercises. Homework (optional) may be assigned in order to reinforce acquisition of oral comprehension and improvement of written expression.

French class Pre-intermediate / Intermediate / Advanced

Principle Goals

• Improve reading comprehension, learning, specifically, to decipher administrative documents without misinterpretation

Syllabus

Part I

• Review or master past and present tenses
  
  
• Improve oral comprehension using a variety of multimedia
  
  
• Learn to use a professional lexicon adapted to specific exigencies of the student-employee's workplace
  
  
• Practice standard telephone and workday situations

Part II

• Review of future and conditional tenses
  
  
• Work on reading comprehension using documents specifically adapted to student-employee's workplace (can be supplied by student-employee)
  
  
• Practice writing documents (letters, faxes and emails) that correspond to the needs of student/employee's company
  
  
• Improve professional vocabulary and oral expression
